Do PCOS drugs help with Hirsutism?

Is anyone having luck reducing their excessive hair through PCOS treatment? I am not overweight so losing weight to control testosterone does not work for me. I have been on BCP for almost TEN years and the hair gets progressively worse as I get older ( I am 30).

I am trying to get up the guts to go to a RE and for the first time in my life actually speak of my hirsutism. I am really discouraged by reading this message board though. Why are so many people talking about electrolysis, laser surgery, waxing, etc. Don't the drugs help?

I don't think I can live the rest of my life trying to fight this daily battle with hair. Every since I determined that PCOS is my problem I had some faith that once I got on the right meds, the hair would go away - but some of the messages I read really discourage me.

I am interested to hear other people's experiences and ways of coping with the hair/acne.

Peace
