Re: Acid Reflux and Dry Patches...

I was diagnosed with acid reflux 6 or more years ago and I had no idea that it could be related to PCOS (if it is). Prior to being diagnosed I would get pain so bad that I couldn't sleep and until I got rid my stomach contents (only worked by throwing up) I didn't feel better. I eventually got a script for Propulsid, which worked good. I only have problems occasionally now and I also noticed it is worsened by stress and certain foods. I know onions make it really bad. I also discussed it with a friend of mine and we decided, as far as onions and garlic (and maybe other items) that we had the most problems if they were dried, re hydrated, not in natural form. I believe there are various items your doctor could suggest: foods to limit like caffeine, fried food, acidic foods, etc. as well as not eating late, putting something underneath the top of your mattress to elevate it 2 or 3 inches (if possible). I agree with those who suggested that it be taken care of, especially since it can also cause problems with your vocal cords/area. Laura :)
