PCOSFrom: A. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 3 Apr 2000 15:15:10 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 28 year old college student, about a year and a half ago when the story on PCOS was aired on DATELINE. NBC, my father got to thinking that I had this syndrome. Unfortunatley we could not afford a doctor, because of my age, i could not be carried on my parents insurance, even though i am a college student. But i did go to a natual doctor, i told her my symptoms and that i thought i had this syndrome, she muscle tested me and we got a positive reponse, she put me on soem herbs which i take off and on, i know, i know bad, bad, i need to stay on them. but its hard sometimes with school and work & my schedule changes every semester. Well i was recently reading part 2 of an article in a health magazine which led me to this website. now i am really scared. i knew some of the reults of this syndrome, however i did not know of the increased risk of cancer and endometrioois(spelling?), the infertility does not bother me, because i do not want children, i want a career and feel it is not fair to have children when a career is really what i want, even though a woman can have it all today. But as i was reading the article it spoke of all these tests that need to be done by a doctor a: in order to confirm diagnosis and b: to be better able to choose a treatment option. Does anyone have any idea what i can do, i cannot afford a doctor working 16 hours a week adn my parents cannot pay for it either, if someone could steer me towards a program or a doctor that might be able to help me, i would greatly appreciate it. my name is A. Matuk, my college address is P O Box 4358 SFA Station Nacogdoches TX 75962 Thanks Thanks to all those women out there who have fought for our rights, past, present and future.
