Re: Electrolysis and InsuranceFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Mar 2000 19:48:47 -0600 (CST)
I have had electrolysis done for facial hair. It has taken me a few years to get it completely under control. I would go for 4-5 visits in a row, then take a break for a few months. I'm due to go again real soon! About the comfort level, it depends alot on the person's experience and technique. It can be painful, but most electrolysists have numbing agents and can vary the amount of power they use. Many electrolysists offer free trial consults. I would definitely recommend trying out a few different ones. My favorite moved about a 1/2 hour away, but she was the least painful. After treatment she would massage a frozen piece of aloe vera over the site she had worked on - Heaven! I did try a few others and needless to say never went back to them! It will be worth the ride to go to my favorite. The average cost is in the low $20's for a 15 min. session - which is about all I can handle. Investigate what is near you and don't be afraid to try it out. For me it was worth the time, money and pain! Good Luck!
