Re: hypoglycemic attack during a workout?From: Anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Mar 2000 22:36:52 -0600 (CST)
Amy, I read just yesterday on Yahoo's Health Section that those who have hypoglycemia should eat something with protein and carb before a workout. The protein gives you the energy for the workout. Have an OJ or a small fruit smoothie, minus any sugar or sweetener afterwards. The expert suggested carrying something with peanut butter (a couple of crackers with PB)or 1/4 cup of nuts to eat afterwards, too. (Are you allergic to nuts?) Don't eat up all of the calories your workout took off though. The expert says that is the most common mistake.
