For us >>skinny women we feel like...OK when I'm going to start gaining and >>growing hair! >> >>So no matter what should we be prepared to gain weight? I dont want to >>sound conceided...but I've always been in shape and skinny. Gaining >>weight and growing hair totally freaks me out!! >> >>I realize I'm lucky because I dont currently have all the symptons but >>I'm so scared they are going to appear! >>How should I handle this? >> >>I'm a bit obessed with my health and can't believe this is happening to >>me.....=( >> I used to be a skinny pcoser too. The first symptoms I noticed were hypoglycemia beginning at age 9, wacky periods beginning at puberty, and hair growth in my late teens. It wasn't until my early 30's that I began gaining weight. I put the weight on when I was undergoing infertility treatments, and I've never been able to get it all back off. Even now I am not obese, but the extra weight(20lbs) is enough to affect my self image and my long-term health. I am taking metformin now and hope that with dietary changes and moderate exercise that I will be able to slowly regain my former shape. This disease is difficult for anyone, slim or not, to deal with. Good luck and good health.
