A hysterectomy will not help the PCOS. You can still have the symptoms except for the irregular menstrual cycle.

I have had the laproscopy where they "drill" with a laser and release the fluid from your cysts. This was done a few years ago and now it is used primarily when women want to conceive. It is not usually done on other women with PCOS. I also currently use met. It has helped regulate my periods, helped me lose weight and helped various other PCOS symptoms. It has also been the object of several studies that have proven it to be successful.
