Re: Anyone ever get diagnosed after a successful pregnancy?From: Molly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Mar 2000 07:22:04 -0800
Hi, many women with PCOS have been thin all their lives until their symptoms became worse. My 16 year old daughter was very athletic and very thin. She gained 40 pounds in a few months, while exercising strenuously daily and watching what she ate. She was in a state of shock! We had never heard of PCOS. Your advantage is that you know about PCOS. Be ready if your body starts showing some of this but don't expect the worst! Make sure that you eat a balanced diet- not just carbs. Be armed and ready! By the way, we found out that I also have PCOS. I don't have near the symptoms my daughter does. I was always very thin and as I got older, I did gain weight. My hair growth got worse but not anything like my daughter! Take care!
