Nethermind My experience was this. I went to doctors in Nov 1988 because constant AF for 6 weeks while on BCP. had tests and told - you have a condition that means you wont be able to have children without fertility treatment. I imeediately came off BCP and went back to my ususal irregulr - but at least not constant AF. I married in June 1989 and came back from honey moon pregnant! (I had put on about 20lbs in the 8 months I had been off pill) My doctor was really pleased for me and since I did not have fertility problem did not worry further about the 'condition' I had. Two years later we decided to try for another child. I guess I was really lucky cos I fell within a couple of months. At that time my weight had gone up to about 200lbs (from my original 129lbs whilst on BCP) NB - I had not had weight problems before BCP either, but went on it quite early to regulate periods. Two years ago, when back to doctor for more tests because of constant bleeding was advised "well you have PCOS - its here in your records 10 years ago - what do you expect?" So I guess the ansa is 'Yes' for some of us really lucky ones, fertility is not necessarily the problem. Tho my dr swears the odds were very highly stacked against me. Good luck - fingers crossed Sam Phillips
