I dislike the fact that you are having to deal with this at such a young age with her. My dau was 12 but we never had weight problems (she is however insulin resistant). Take her to your endocrinologist. A pediatrician may have very limited information on PCOS because this is not an area of practice that they are used to dealing with. My endo has begun talks to peds so that she does not get the patients who have been suffering for years. She believes that early detection is very beneficial. You cannot really put her on a low carb diet, but you might want to cut out potatoes, rice, sugar and white flour. Be sure that this eating plan is stopped before her blood tests.
