I saw Dr Andrew Lowy several times at the St Vincent's Endocrine clinic. He isn't entirely sure about Metformin, but he was happy enough to prescribe it for me once I requested it. And, now that he has seen my success, he may be more inclined to prescribe it again. I also saw a Dr Chisholm there, who was good. Actually I believe Dr Lowy has since moved to Concorde hospital as part of his rotation, but either seeing him there or going to the clinic is a great move. Both these Drs were GREAT just in that my amazing size (I weigh 145 kilos) didn't faze them in the slightest. They really were concerned with me as a person, and did everything possible to help. And Dr Lowy is really cute :) But I didn't say that cuz I'm married! ANYWAY... I think that here in Australia we have to work especially hard at keeping ourselves informed and being assertive with our doctors, no matter where we go.
