Diabetic with PCOS -treatment?

I was first told I had this in "86" we reduced the size of my overys with meds instead of surgery. That was it, no follow up. It was forgotten. I tried a total of 13 years to concieve. Without warning in "94" I concieved and miscarried in Aug. March of 95 I misscarred again and discovered in May I was preg. again. With a great Dr. I was on hormone therpy through the 1st trimester and discovered I was diabetic. My son was born in Feb 96. Continued to control my diabetes with metformin and Rezulin with little sucess. In May of last year I was preg. again went back on insulin but miscarried in June. Have stayed on insulin because I want to get preg. we have kept very tight control of my sugar levels(now they are normal). Now I have been reminded (through a mag story)of that long ago diagnosis of PCOS. Everything fits but now that I am full blown diabetic where do I go from here. I see my endo. next week. I still want to have another child. My ob-gyn told me that even though I'm 44 I should be able to have another child. Remember the 4 preg. in the last 6 years with no meds just tons of prayer. But we have never talked about PCOS. I see him in July. Who would be best to handle the PCOS? Do I need to go back on Metformin for the PCOS? My cycles have resumed but are very light. Will this help me to resume ovulation?

I have not been able to find anything about treatment for the diabetic. How does it differ? Does it differ? Sorry this is so long. I would appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks!
