Re: TreatmentFrom: Molly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Mar 2000 22:05:40 -0800
Donna, many believe that the insulin sensitizers are the best course of treatment. My 16 year old daughter is on metformin (500mg 3 times a day) and has had great results. It has helped insulin, weight, slowed hair growth, etc. There are others that have worked for many people. She is also on Ovcon 35 birth control pill, spironolactone (for the hair growth, also is a diuretic), and vitamins. She is making so much progress! It is a lot of information to process at once. This group has been a lifesaver for me. There are so many supportive people always willing to help. Have you read the information to take to your doctor? Go to the website http://www.pcosupport.org and click on the Welcome Woman's Day Readers. It will give you lots of helpful information. Please feel free to email me privately if you have any questions: mollys@home.com. Good luck!
