Re: Polycystic without the cysts?

Your story sounds sooooo familiar. Mine is the same except I have the cystic ovaries and testosterone is now high normal. I was not insulin resistant and glucose was normal. Anyway, I wanted to put in a good word for the pill, at least my experience. I was overweight and had to go on BCP because of my periods. I am 35 now, and have been on and off the pill since 18. Anyway, my dr put me on Ortho Cyclen, a low dose estrogen pill with one of the newer progestins. She told me to give it a fair 3 month trial. I did and I lost 40lbs while on it. My skin was flawless and my periods were a dream. But if you had high blood pressure, your md may not even consider the pill for you anyway. Sorry, I haven't been on any of the other meds. Right now I am suffering the painful effects PCO has on infertility and taking injectable FSH in hope of a pregnancy. Good luck to you.
