Alexis, he could very well be testing the Met.

I don't think the research literature which the doctors read is very clear yet, and it seems like some doctors are trying to be sure of what works for the individual without over prescribing. Maybe the doctors are slow to change what they were trained to think years ago in medical school. I find they don't always trust new findings.

Many of us are on both the Met and bcp. Some of us (like me) also take spironolactone with the Met and bcp. In my case, each was added to my regimen one at a time because of the timing of when these treatments were available/promoted for PCOS/idiopathic hirsutism.
