Belle-The pill and PCOFrom: Jae (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Mar 2000 13:53:14 -0600 (CST)
Dear Belle, I have been off and on the pill for years. My doctors have all recommended it for my pcos and monthly bleeds. It makes me feel sick, irritable and gain weight. I really have a hard time controlling my urges to eat while on the pill (this doesn't happen while I am off of it). The only real reason I feel like I should take it is because so many doctors recommend it. What do you suggest I take to have a period? Provera? Metformin? I don't want endometrial cancer. I would like to know more about the research that has been done on the pill and PCO. Where can I find this info? In one of your previous posts you mentioned that you are strongly opposed to using the pill for the treatment of pcos. I am so confused. Please help! Thanks, Jae
