Got doctor to order tests, YEAH!

I finally got the doctor to order some tests. I went in today and told him I thought I was insulin resistant. He looked at me like I was nuts and acted like I had never mentioned my PCOS to him in November. Anyway, he is sending me for a pelvis us, comprehensive metabolic profile, lipid panel, cbc, ca125, FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, estradiol, and 3 hour GTT. I hope the GTT will show something. He seems to think that my US will be negative and that there is nothing wrong with me but a previous GYN. told me I had PCOS. I am hoping that this will prove to him that I am not crazy. He mentioned that if some of the tests come back positive he will probably refer me to an endocrinologist. This is good right? They handle this sort of thing all the time. What I was wondering was... Does anyone know what prolactin is and why he would be testing it? Thanks!
