Facial hairFrom: Annie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 20 Mar 2000 13:30:35 -0600 (CST)
I've been on Spironolactone for several years, which eliminated chest and stomach hair. However, the facial hair is a daily nightmare (and depressing). I'm in L.A., and after the last 2 earthquakes, what's the first thing I do? Run to the bathroom and shave with a shaking hand in case I'm going to be out there for a while on the street. I tried painful electrolysis, but that's hard to keep up if you have to go to work. And yes, insurance doesn't pay for this "vanity". I'm now post-menopausal, which probably doesn't help. I was never able to have children. Exploratory surgery discovered poly-cystic ovaries (called the Stein-Leventhal Syndrome then). My whole life has to revolve around the secret chore of shaving (twice a day, if I go out in the evening). I sometimes worry about, "What if I get sick and have to be in hospital and cannot shave?" Has anyone tried laser surgery? Is there any solution?
