At the time I did not know anything about PCOS except that it gave me hair on my chin, a lot of extra weight and a lot of pain in my lower stomach (which I later learned were the cysts). I have since been reading as much as I can on PCOS and have learned of Metformin. My regular doctor has been very open to my ideas and suggestions. And at one point I had a very good gyn who was extremely knowledgable about PCOS. Unfortunately I had to change insurance and lost my wonderful gyn. I am now very unhappy with my knew gyn, who doesn't seem to know as much about this syndrome. Does anyone know of any gyn in northern Virginia who has been helpful?
