Re: HELP!!!!!!!From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 17 Mar 2000 19:29:07 EST
Hey There! Don't worry about offending any of us! We've been through it all...believe us! Who diagnosed you with PCOS? Was it your family doctor? Birth control pills will only mask your symptoms. Problems with your periods are a symptom, not the cause. Most of us with PCOS have insulin problems. Sometimes they don't even show up in the bloodwork. Go to PCOSupport.org and research what treatments are helping the cause of your problem, then show some adults in your family who you think will help you find a doctor who will be more aggressive in fighting this. Ask to see an endocrinologist. This is a doctor who will check on all of your hormone levels. They know more about your problem, probably, than a general practitioner, or family doctor. As far as hair is concerned, don't worry about your private hair. Most women don't, and at 14, who will know anyway? You take care of yourself. Leslie <><
