My daughter is very thin and has been underweight according to her pediatrician. She is 13 and started her period a year ago. When her periods did not regulate, I took her in to the endo. that I see for PCOS. She had her insulin tested and guess what -- she is insulin resistant. It does seem that nearly all women with PCOS have an insulin problem but not all women with PCOS are heavy.
