Before I was diagnosed with PCOS, I was diagnosed with stress, tumor on my pituitary andwas told that if I lost weight my problems would go away. I was sure that an extra 15 pounds would not cause my periods to stop or cause hair to grow on my face. I was lucky that the next dr I went to knew about PCOS. He was able to give me the information I needed. At the time, there was not much that could be done for PCOS but he did what he could. Now, there are medications to help control the insulin problems that seem to be so common with PCOS. I feel that if you are not comfortable with your dr's treatment of your problems, you should try to find another dr. Perhaps you can find a recommendation on here or on the PCOSupport page at http://www.pcosupport.org
-- Hope this helps,
