This is my first time posting on this board. I have not been tested for this syndrome yet, but I have about 75% of these symptoms. I am very concerned that I may have this, and at the same time afraid about my visit. I, like many of the women in this group, have went through the same types of responses from doctors. However, most of my symptoms didn't appear until after being on birth control pills for a number of years (one of my first symptoms being an excessive weight gain), and then after getting off the pill about a year and a half ago, I got even more of these symptoms (such as the absent menstral cycles, and a cyst). Therefore, I wonder if this is what is wrong with me. I have had a gut feeling for a very long time that something is wrong and for many years thought that it was due to being on the birth control pills, but since I've been off I have had more and more of the problems listed in this syndrome. My mother ran across this article in Women's Day magazine which decribed all of the problems I was facing and she gave the article to me. Once I read it myself I soon started wondering if this is what is wrong with me. My husband, who also read it, thinks that there is a good possibility that this is it. Today I made an appointment with the OBGYN who I have been seeing lately, but I want to send him the information about this syndrome before the consultation. I want to make sure he understands that I am serious about ruling this out. At the same time I don't want to offend him by giving him information that he may not need or have the time to look over, therefore I need some idea of exactly what I should send him. And at the same time I do want to make sure that he is informed about this syndrome. I really don't want to go to another Dr. who is just going to dismiss this, and not take it seriously. So if anyone could give me any suggestions on what to send him prior to my visit in two weeks, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank everyone who has taken the time to listen to my story. Duise
