Metformin and ovulationFrom: chapman (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 26 Sep 2003 14:06:20 -0500 (CDT)
I am 29, 3 pregancies, 0 babies, borderline PCOS, borderline IR, hypothyroid (normal now with Synthroid), thin body frame and consistantly 32-day cycles. I ovulate every cycle. My RE feels I am ovulating too late in my cycle (day 16-18), tho it's getting better and better. I'm taking 200mg of Prometrium during my luteal phase. 81 mg baby asparin daily. He also has me on Bromocriptine for lactation. He wants to start me on Metformin to help me ovulate earlier. Things don't seem bad enough to me that I need to take Metformin...I don't want to make things worse by over-medicating. I'm worried that taking this drug could make my periods ovulation irregular. Any opinions? Thanks, Chapman
