Re: metformin and pregnancyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 25 Sep 2003 06:53:48 -0500 (CDT)
Jennifer: You are correct about the home ovalation kits, they are not always accurate with PCOS. The following website gives great information on tracking ovulation; http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/fertility-charting.htm. Tracking your temperature and watching your cervical mucus will help you figure out whether and when you are ovulating. Once you are able to start tracking your ovualtion, the website will tell you the best times to try to conceive. You may need to give it a little more time, then again maybe not; PCOS is different for all of us. After starting Met, I got my period right away but it took several months for me to start regulating. I was very upset when it was 45+ days and I still wasn't showing any signs of getting my second period, but eventually my cycles did regulate. Don't get frustrated if your cycle is not every 28 days or even if you do not get a period next month. This may not even be the case for you just didn't want you to get upset if it does not happen right away. But once your cycle regulates, it will be easier to chart ovulation. Good Luck! Joy
