I would seriously get a 2nd or 3rd opinion on this. Dr. Sam can tell you more about the procedure, but ovarian drilling is OLD (not new!) and is considered one of the least-effective methods of treatment. I'm not impressed with a 50% success rate, either, esp. when treatment of the underlying cause of PCO has greater than a 50% success rate. I have heard from others that the surgery is amazingly painful and that for most people there a short reprieve from symptoms, not a life-long one.
