Hi! I'm new to the board - I did try to leave a message earlier, but I can't find it! lol...I'm going to keep track of this one!

I've been ttc actively for 5 years. I say actively, because although I've never used BC (pill or external methods) for any length of time, I haven't been too concerned about whether I did or didn't. But, I was diagnosed in 1994 with PCOS after a *huge* unexplainable weight gain and a severe bout of hair loss. The response was to put me on BC pills. I got so sick I was bedridden. I just can't take them for some reason stll unknown to myself or my doctors.

I moved to MA about 5 years ago and thought my PCP was aware of the PCOS diagnosis - there is some bizarre no sharing rule here and my OB/GYN didn't tell my PCP. Of course, I should have been discussing it with her so I take full blame! The long and short of it is this: She put me on MET about 6 months ago and I got really sick - bladder infection, large amounts of protein in my urine, bleeding, etc. so I went off of it and cleared those up. Hadn't had a cycle in 3 months so she put me on Provera for a week and back on MET at the same time. I'm a month into the MET and the bladder infection is starting again and the 'spotting' has started again. I also feel nauseated all of the time. So, I go back on 9/22 to see her about all of this.

What should I do? What should I ask? I mean, are these normal side effects from MET? (These weren't in any of the side effects lists I've read so far!) I'm a little scared from the bleeding and I will definitely ask ker about that! Is there something else I could take in place of the MET?

*sigh* I think she's going to refer me to a specialist. But, I've been trying to make sense of the insane number of drugs out there and I'm lost in a sea of side effects, symptoms, drug pairings, etc.

Could some one please help me before my appt. with her?

ps - I am just glad they discovered that depression is linked to PCOS! the last 10 years make so much more sense now!!
