You said it, for "insulin -related problems". If you have no such problems, you won't benefit from metformin. It's not a magic drug, it has a purpose. It's purpose is to make cells more sensitive to insulin, that's it. It's black and white, there's no gray in it, no magic potion, and not a cure for everyone. By the way, no one should be taking more than 1500 mgs per day. If that dosage doesn't work for you, tell your doctor to try something else. You could be at risk of getting lactic acidosis. It's crazy to try 3000mgs per day.
