Lower Back Pain

Hi, all!

I have been taking Metformin for a week tomorrow. I started on 1000 mg and had no side effects (except for very minor nausea) for the first three days. The last few days, however, I have had chronic diarhea (sorry) and quite a bit more nausea, though not as bad as the other. The thing that worries me is that I'm have severe lower back pain and my skin feels bruised if it's touched. Could this maybe be a virus (going around here) or do you think it may have something to do with the Met? Oh, and I did start my period two days after starting the medication, which I think is wonderful, considering it's my second this year. Not noted any weight loss but I know it's way too early for that and not everyone benefits from that side effect. The diarhea does get worse if I eat anything sweet. (I have drastically cut back in that area, though.) Do you have to change your diet to that of the Atkins to benefit from weight loss, or is that something that may just happen? Thanks for any feedback!

Thank you!
