Re: taking metforminFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Sep 2003 10:03:49 -0500 (CDT)
Nancy: Some people get their periods within a week others need more time. It could take a couple of months and if there are no results then it may be necessary to increase the dosage. I got my period in about a month and it took about nine months to actually get on a regular cycle. I am on 2000mg and I have heard some people say they were taking 3000mg; I am not sure of the maximum safe dosage but you should step up gradually. It is possible to get pregnant without a period but chances are if you are not getting a period then you probably are not ovulating but this is definitely not guaranteed.
