I'll answer what I can of this. You can always get pregnant, period or not. There is always a risk. If you don't want a baby, don't risk it. The top dosage of metformin that makes any difference (meaning after this amount you are just straining your liver and not reaping any benefits) is 2225 mg, but do not take more than your doctor recommends. I am on 1000mg/day and i have been taking glucophage/metformin for 3 years.
