Recently diagnosed - anyone know of drs. in DE? - is it possible to be a normal weight someday? From: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Aug 2003 09:02:17 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently seeing a RE for infertility and was recently diagnosed w/ pcos. The diagnosis is surprizing, but answered sooo many questions I've had growing up. I just thought I got the short end of the stick when it came to excessive hair, hard to loses weight, low energy. I've struggled my whole life with these problems. Anyway, I'm happy with my infertility dr. helping me with getting pg, but I don't think he'll see me afterwards for the everyday pcos issues. Does anyone know of drs. in DE or nearby Philadelphia or Maryland I could see? I'd even go to baltimore or annapolis (1 1/2 hrs away). Also, I consider myself overweight, but not obese (yet). I exercise 3-4 times/week doing a moderate aerobics class or treadmill (nothing excessive or too easy). I always have struggled with weight--even having an eating disorder. Can metformin ever make me normal in that when I eat and exercise like everyone else, I won't be overweight? Please help!
