Oh my god... Go to another doctor. They absolutly at the very least should have tested A. that you aren't pregnant and B. that you have no liver problems before putting you on any of that.

Your doctor sounds very incompetent.

As for not eating bread, pasta--you should not eat ALOT of it, and when you eat bread, pasta, etc you should try to go for whole grains (oatmeal, wheat bread, 8 grain bread, brown rice, etc)

... basically follow a diabetic diet--IF that's what you need to be doing. Go to a gynocologist (call around and see if they are familiar with PCOS) and an endocronologist (reproductive or not--doesnt really matter) who has good credientials--do some research.
