Evening Primrose Oil and PCOSFrom: Marcie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Aug 2003 18:44:47 -0500 (CDT)
I am 29-yo and my husband and I are ttc for the first time. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April. My OB put me on Clomid to help with ovulation. I am also taking 1700mg Metformin. My question is that one since Clomid can affect cervical (cm) mucous, I have read that Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) can help generate and and loosen cm. However, I have also read that EPO is an estrogen booster, and I thought that one of the problems of PCOS was too much estrogen in the system (thus the Metformin). I am confused as to whether or not I should take this herb. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!
