Re: MetphorminFrom: Yolanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Aug 2003 18:48:33 -0500 (CDT)
I've recently been informed by my Doctor that I have PCOS (In Jan of 2001) and to tell you the truth I'm not really happy about it. For yours I've been trying to conceive and nothing has happend. From the age of about 16 or 17 I could remember having Irregular periods, never knew or understood why. After finding out about PCOS and what it is and what means in the big picture it dosent feel so good. I've taken provera, clomed and injectables. I've had a hystosalpingograhm, and 2 laporoskpy (excuse my spelling) Right now my Doctor Hame on Metphormin, I started out with 500mg a day for the first week and each week there after they were to increase 500mg until I reacher 2000mg per week. I am now in my 5th week and I can't seem to get past the 1000mgs. I can't take the feeling I'm having as a result of the metformin. I'm looking for something that will allow me to feel better along with doing the job that the metformin does. Can you please help!
-- Hi, Kristan Just to respond to your email, I'm awear that this email was sent in Jsnuary 2003 but I could'nt resist responding. I was just recently found out that I had PCOS and I'm Presantly working with an Fertilty Endocrainologist. The one thing he failed to tell me was what to eat and what not to eat. So I took it upon my self to find an PCOS nutritionist and her Information was very very helpful. So I strongly suggest that you see one (If you have'nt seen one yet)
