Helen I feel really good now on 3000mg daily and it has really helped with pcos. When I started I felt extremely sick and nauseous for about 1 month but now have worked out how to take it and all the undesirable symtoms have disappeared. I take 1000mg 3x daily - do not take the tablets immediately after food - wait at least half an hour - I take them normally 1 hr after food and do not take them with fatty food or too much carbs. Its ok after same amount of carbs as say a couple of sandwiches or 2 slices of toast - not more than that or you'll feel sick. You have to really control your diet and it will really help with acne your skin will really clear up with the metformin - the hirsutism improves but does not disappear - but metformin will really help you to lose weight fast if you control your diet and really cut out all fatty food. Plus I am having periods for the first time ever !! Hope this helps Nicky
