Does it ever go away? No, it can not be cured but it can be treated and controlled with medication and dieting If you diet and everything, does that insure you won't get diabetes? There is no guarantee that you won't get diabetes (family history also has a lot to do with that) but dieting is definitely beneficial What effects can it have on a person in the long run? If not treated, Diabetes, heart disease, stroke and possibly cancer.
