Glucophage candidate?From: J (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 1 Aug 2003 21:02:15 -0700 (PDT)
Hi, I am so confused about this whole issue. I have been diagnosed wtih PCOS for 15 years now. Did the Demulen and some spiranolactone for a while. And then conceived and had two boys. It has been hard for me to lose weight after the second child (16 months later!) and my blood pressure suddenly shot up to 160/100. So I ws put on diazyde and told to reduce weight (I started a diligent walking schedule of 5 miles a day). Meantime, I got in touch with an RE and had my 5 hour fasting blood sugar test done. It showed up normal. My questions? (1) Obviously I am not a candidate for Glucophage. 16 weeks of exercise and low carbing and I lost only 5 lbs. What else do I do to lose the weight? (2) I have had moderately good luck trying Saw Palmetto, Vitex and Omega-3. Any herbal suggestions for Insulin resistance (which I am not testing positive for but have ALL the symptoms of!)? (3) I have concluded that AF has to do with a period. But what does it stand for? Thanks for your consideration, Jayme SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
