Hi, I was on Actos before (had to stop because I ran out of insurance), but I didn't gain any weight on it. My endocrinologist had put me on Actos as well as Spiralactone (aldactone) so I am not sure what Actos alone does. Honestly when I took both together, I had never felt more normal. The abnormal hair growth became much lighter and thinner. I lost a lot of weight and actually felt good in a bathing suit. I now have just received insurance again and am thinking about going to an endo and having him put me back on it. However, at that time, Actos and Spiralactone was all I was taking. My periods were still very irregular, but I didn't care about that as long as I wasn't overweight and hairy. I am currently on Yasmin BC and have regular periods and the abnormal hair has become much lighter and very fine(can hardly see it). The hair on my tummy and inner thighs is still kinda bad though. Although not much of a problem because I can just shave it and it is not in a place that everyone can see it. Being on Yasmin however has not help with the weight. It hasn't really made me gain weight but it hasn't made me loose any. Ideally I would love to be on all three at the same time; Yasmin, Actos, Spiralactone. Anyway, I hope this helps. You might want to ask your endo about the Spiralactone. I think you would really like it. P.S. I did try Glucophage for a few months but couldn't handle it, I bleed non stop and it didn't help me much at all. That's when I was introduced to Yasmin. Best Regards, Cheryl
