Pain w/ PCOS. Stubborn Weight , help !From: Camisha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jul 2003 13:05:31 -0500 (CDT)
I have been diagnosed with PCOS for almost 1 year. I'm 29 with no children ( don't really want any yet :}) however the weight is a problem. I was being mis-diagnosed for the longest and I have a bag if medicine to proove it. The systoms were there unexplained weight gain, acne and pain in the vicinty of the cycst. I too, have been prescribed Glucophase XR. The side effects nausea, and "the runs" have been awful. However I've had success with having a menustration. The Glucophase (metformin)which was perscribed twice a day had no effect. No periods, and the side effect kept me in the bathroom. I haven't lost one pound, yet I haven't gained weight which is a great thing. I read that I may need a dietition because we (PCOS)have special needs. Anyone else had to deal with pain? Suggestions please !
