Re: Yasmin and weight gainFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 13 Jul 2003 10:47:02 -0500 (CDT)
I used Dianette from the age of 17 and was told six months ago (at the age of 21) that there was a risk from being on it for a long period of time and to try Yasmin. I was told it would clear any acne and act the same way as Dianette. In the last 6 months I have had really bad skin, and I never had bad skin even as a teenager. I lost weight initially, around 7-8 pounds but was not aware it was a side effect of Yasmin. Now, after a holiday of one week I gained 10 pounds. Putting it down to post holiday fat I went back to my diet and work out plan that I had previous to the holiday expecting to lose it again within a few weeks. Now, two months later I have gained another 3 pounds and cannot move it! I have upped my exercise and eat healthily anyway. It is very frustrating. I am going to visit my GP again to go back onto Dianette, at least I knew where I was with it!
