Yasmin, Glucophage, and all that fun stuff!

Hi - this is my first time posting. Honestly, I can't remember when I was diagnosed with PCOS. I am guessing approximately since 1999. I was immediately put on Spironolactone. Then, my endocrinologist found a lump on my thryroid, which turned out to be multiple nodules (my thyroid itself works fine - TSH is normal)and had surgery to remove my the right side of my thyroid this past March. Anyway, to make a long story short -- I was off spironolactone when all the thyroid issues came about, and on June 26th my new endocrinologist put me on Glucophage XR. I have been reading the others posts and am quite concerned about the hair loss issue when taking Glucophage. I have been losing hair like crazy since my diagnois (especially the temples). I certainly don't want to lose more. I have the excessive facial/body hair, however no acne. I am 29 years old, about 5'6 and 184. I am on Ortho-Tri-Cyc LO (which is also new -about to start my third pack). I am not trying to get pregnant. The posts about Yasmin sound positive concerning the facial/body hair, but I don't want to gain weight. My endocrinologist told me the glucophage will help me lose weight. This is all so confusing!!! Anyway, any thoughts on these meds. Thanks for listening, Maria
