what now?From: betsy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 11 Jul 2003 04:18:30 -0500 (CDT)
I had been treating my pcos for the last 4 years with spironolactone and alesse. For the past year I've been trying to treat atrophic vagininitis from the birth control pills and have been at my wits end!! I finally went off the pill in May to see if I can clear up the vaginitis problems. I also stopped the spironolactone because I've found in the past when I"m on it without the pill I experience frequent spotting. I have problems with swelling especially in my hands and feet so I switched over to lasix to control those symptoms. I find that already in the 2 months I've been off medication that my hair seems to get oily by the end of the day, my face is starting to break out and I feel like a giant hormone ( I think I can cry on command )!! So far the hair growth hasn't restarted. I am not looking to have any children any more so fertility is not an issue. I'm looking for ideas of where to go from here to control my symptoms. thanks!!!
