If you were not mensrtating regularly, there may be a large build-up on the uterine lining. This could cause the heavy bleeding. By the way, why start Clomid so soon? I have read that about 50% of women with PCOS will concieve on metformin alone. I always try to take as little meds as possible. I am givng metformin a try for six months. I am on month three now and have had three consecutive periods, and ovulated last month (Yipee). Anyway, I am going to give it a few months before I take Clomid. You need to deide for yourself, but Clomid can have a lot of side effects. Best wishes, Teri
