Re: pcos & herbs- questions !!!.........long one plz. bearFrom: Teri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Jun 2003 05:12:12 -0500 (CDT)
To everyone trying the herb way: I have been on-line searching for answers every day for months. This is my newest information: Go to http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/short/340/17/1314 This short talks about the newest treatment designed especially for PCOS! Can you believe it. There is some actual research on PCOS! Well, it discusses using d-Chiro-Inositol. Now I am no doctor. I am just like you; doing my best to find something that works. This new herb is very promising. Of course, you can't buy it bacesue it is not FDA apprived yet, but you can get it through food you eat. Go to http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/cystershell/dshirofoods.html?mtbrand=AOL_US This site list foods that contain d-Chiro-Inositol, such as Soy Lethicin (Lecithin), Strawberries, Oats and Lentils. I have been a 1,200 mg gel capsul of Lecithin for two weeks now. I have had no ill effects. The study mentioned that after 6 weeks, most women with PCOS had regualr periods. I am really hoping that this is the real thing. Please give it a try and best wishes to all.
