Post-Hysterectomy, Glucophage to lose weight only...From: Paula (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Jun 2003 18:41:50 -0500 (CDT)
I am 30 yoa. I had a hysterectomy at 25 d/t endometrial cancer. Still have my ovaries. 5'10" 376lbs with no successful weight loss to date. Skin tags, dark patches, adult acne, hirsutism, weight around middle, absent periods (back then), infertility (then), fasting insulin too high, crave sugar/carbs, hate myself 2-3 hours after eating, etc, etc, etc. Doctor started me on glucophage 3 days ago. 1000mg day, 500 bid, bkfst and lunch. GI problems every other day so far. Is anyone else in my shoes? Is this going to help me lose weight or is this just for those wishing (and able) to conceive?? (Really would rather just be fat and not in the toilet for an hour if it's not going to work.)
