Re: Metformin and pregnancyFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Jun 2003 13:58:58 -0400
Hi there! On the last visit to my Endo. he said that the moment I find out that I am pregnant, he wanted me to come off the Met. I told him that after doing research on the Internet, I didnt' feel comfortable with that decision. He said that the best he could do would be to allow me stay on it for the first trimester. I'm scared. After 6 years of trying, I am closer now than ever to being pregnant, and I don't want to lose this baby. -----Original Message----- From: anonymous [mailto:anonymous@obgyn.net Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 1:47 PM To: Multiple recipients of list PCOS-MEDICATION Subject: Metformin and pregnancy I am new to this forum and I am sure that this question has been asked many times. After two miscarriages, I am finally 13 weeks pregnant. I have had a bad history of ovulation and PCOS. I have Metformin to thank for my success however, I am being told by my specialist that I have to get off of it because he says that there is no conclusive evidence that the baby won't be harmed if I stay on it. In addition, he is also saying that the Metformin is there to help get you pregnant and prevent miscarriages only in the first trimester. Did anyone else here of this? Does anyone know if I am really out of the woods and the Metformin won't help anymore? Please let me know
