Insulin and C-Peptide levelsFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Jun 2003 12:48:34 -0500 (CDT)
What does it mean if your tests come back low? My fasting glucose test came back the first time a 4. I have been on Met 1500mg. for 3 months and was given the following tests just last week. A C-Peptide test which came back at 1.0 on a range from .9 to 4.3 being normal, an insulin test at the same time came back at 2.8 on a scale from 1.4 to 14 being normal. My testosterone was 49 on a scale of 12-72 being normal. However, I have the symptoms of IR. My first indication that something was wrong was the sudden weight gain, even though eating small amounts of food, and not being able to lose. Did the Met cause the decrease in test values? I'm losing SLOWLY, with great amount of effort, am low carbing and exercising. Can low normal results be a problem? How do you have low values and have IR? My thyroid is fine. I'm also recently on Yasmin. Thanks for the input.
