Well when I was first suspected with having pcos i had an ulatrasound which did confirm pcos. I was told it was only a mild case as the follicles noticed on my ovaries were fairly small but they were evident. I also had thorough hormone tests most of which came out normal apart form Lutenising Hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). They couldnt quite explain the hirsuitism as my hormone levels didnt seem to support the presence of excess hair. I was told it was a "grey area"!! So I was put on Diannette to "stop extra follicles from devleping" and subsequently put on metformin as the dianette didnt appear to have an impact on the hirsuitism.
