Metformin - the bad newsFrom: pam (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Jun 2003 15:12:15 -0500 (CDT)
this is my first msg and i don't know quiet how this works. My story i shall keep short. I was on Metformin working my way up to 500mg a day....im was 21 and diagnosed with PCOS. Side effects included diaorehha ( can't spell) , nausea, vomitting, severe fatigue, itchy skin, rashes, hair loss, muscle cramps, and bleeding every two weeks. This lasted for over or about 4 months. The doctor insisted I stay on my medication. I simply could not get oout of bed in the morning. My trousers would fit me in the mornigns and not during the day....or vice versa...soemtimes the change would be rapid. I was also quiet down as a result. Metofirm I was told A year later does not suit everyone. DO not put up with any side effects for longer than 4 weeks. It is simpoly not worth it. This affected my degree at university, my relationship with my partner and so on and so forth. Also when you come of Metformin you put on a lot of weight. It's just not fair if you can't be on metformin but don't put up with it at any cost.
